"Official" Engagement Party

Yes, ANOTHER engagement party.  What can I say....we LOVE to party!  This time it was Kelvin's 25th birthday.  By then, we had told everyone we were engaged so we decided to make it an official engagement party; Kelvin's birthday happens to be at the same time :)

EVENT:  Kelvin's 25th birthday & "Official" Engagement Party

SCHEME:  Las Vegas Poker Night.  Some bridesmaids and I decided to dress up as poker dealers. We had a make-shift photobooth to look like a casino.

"Unofficial" Engagement Party

I've done many weddings, but for my first showcase event I'd like to share my wedding events, which in a way started my journey as an event planner.

EVENT:  My 25th Birthday & "Unofficial" Engagement Party.  I got engaged in San Francisco on August 16, 2008.  I had already planned my birthday party, so hence the "unofficial".  I guess you can say it was more of an "announcement" of our engagement.

SCHEME:  I turned 25 years old.  So I did a spin on the whole 25th traditional anniversary gift, which is silver. I also always wanted to do a hawaiian theme (since I was a polynesian dancer back then).  So I put all my ideas on paper and came up with this.

COLORS:  Black and Silver.

Happy Valentines Day!

I hope all of you are spending today wisely.  But remember, today shouldn't be THE day to do something for your loved ones.  Everyday is a day of love, whether big or small. Let today just be a reminder of what love you have, whether it be a wife/husband, girl/boyfriend, best friend, coworker, or even your pet! And spend the rest of your lives showing how much you love them.  And if you're single with no one to love (highly doubt it!), try to remember..... someone out there does love you.  Otherwise, if all else fails, LOVE YOURSELF.

Happy Valentines Day! <3

"Your wedding is a day. Your marriage is a lifetime."

I've done many events, big and small. But the biggest event I did, changed my life forever.  My wedding!

I got married January 2010 to the love of my life.  We were together 8 years before we tied the knot.  Kelvin and I wanted a different and unique wedding.  Just little things that make a big difference.

Ceremony took place at USD Immaculata Parish. Bridal party pictures proceeded after at Old Town San Diego.  Reception was at Hilton Mission Valley.  We had an awesome team of professionals:

Vinyl Tranzition
Narrative Images Photography
NR3 Videography
Floral Works
Grove Pastry

Overall style was vintage inspired.  We took golds, chocolates, and ivorys and sprinkled it everywhere.  I had 2 dresses because I couldn't pick just one!  Bridesmaid dresses were custom made in gold.  Table numbers were named after streets/landmarks in San Francisco where we got engaged.  We had a few surprise performances.  A hula dance Kelvin and I did for our 1st dance, a nontraditional father/dather & mother/son dance [see video below].  Other performances were a traditional filipino dance (tinikling) and a tahitian performance by yours truly.  Everything went smoothly that day.  We all know no wedding is perfect.......but I think mine came pretty close.  So to relive our wedding day, here are some pictures taken by our awesome photographers Narrative Images.
